Bookings and Payment

Confirmation of Booking and Payment Details

As you will appreciate, the careful creation of each ceremony and preparation and lodgement of all paperwork requires a considerable amount of my time. Consider this, and compare my fee with other services relating to your ceremony. I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised and recognise the value for money for my service.

My fee is dependent on a few factors – the date (this year, next year etc), distance and travelling time to your venue, and public holidays. It does not include the cost of the official Marriage Certificate issued by Births, Deaths and Marriages although I can provide you with the relevant form or direct you to the online application process.

Your ceremony date and time will be confirmed and secured by payment of your booking fee of $200. No paperwork will be accepted or issued until this payment is received.

Due to the high number of enquiries I receive, I cannot guarantee your date until your booking fee has been paid.

The outstanding balance is payable at least 14 days before the wedding. I will not attend the ceremony unless all fees have been paid, and all original documentation sighted.

Payment may be made in cash or bank transfer/deposit. Please ensure that your names are typed in the reference field if paying by internet bank transfer, or notify me if you have made a branch deposit.

Should the ceremony be cancelled by you, the booking fee is non-refundable. Should either of you cancel the ceremony within 4 weeks of the scheduled ceremony date, having paid the balance, no refund will be given.

Should I be unable to attend your ceremony due to serious illness or any other unforseen reason beyond my control, I will arrange for a professional and experienced replacement celebrant.

Should you wish to alter the arranged time, date or venue for your ceremony, please contact me as soon as you start considering doing so that I can confirm my availability. Please do not assume that I will be available.

The ceremony must commence close to the scheduled time. In the event that the ceremony is delayed more than half and hour, for whatever reason, I become entitled to proceed to my next commitment if necessary. Please note, should this occur you are liable for and indemnify me against liability, loss or costs incurred due to either of you not being ready within that half hour period. I will make every attempt to return after the next commitment.

Please note that if I suspect that either of you is under the influence of alcohol and/or illicit drugs, I am not legally permitted to conduct the ceremony.

Shortening of Time

Need to be married in a hurry?

In special & unique circumstances, it is possible to shorten the minimum notice time for a marriage to less than a month.

You will need to approach a Prescribed authority (Local Court or Registry Office) to give your reasons for the necessity of a shortening of time. If they are satisfied that you have met the prescribed regulations and conditions, then official permission may be granted.

Please do not assume that this is not an automatic process.
